Shawn Moore, LMSW, COH Executive Director and Founder, advocates in the community by speaking about the difficult topic’s caregivers face every day. She has provided her expertise to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) by presenting to the Governor and Mayor's Challenge to prevent suicide in the SMVF populations policy academies, at many Veteran's Affairs Hospital to both providers and family caregivers, the Elizabeth Dole Foundation, the Rosalynn Carter Institute for Caregiving, many community mental health organizations and other non-profits. She has addressed the Kansas City, Missouri’s City Council multiple times advocating for veteran family caregivers. Shawn's passion for supporting caregivers can be heard in her voice. Using her own personal experiences and her Master in Social Work degree, she tells a story that would touch anyone’s heart and backs it with evidence based research.
